Members with skills, experience and interests that they feel are relevant are invited to apply. The time requirement is estimated to be one to two days per week, to own timetable, working from home. A job description can be supplied on request.

Pinewood Update

Local villagers have applied for some of the land, which Pinewood studios plans to build upon, to become a Village Green. They can do this under the 2006 Commons Act, which allows anyone to apply for village green status provided the land has been used “without permission, without being stopped or seeing notices which stop them and without being secretive about it, and that between them they have done this for a continuous period of 20 years”.

If successful, this would scupper Pinewood Studios’ plans to build 1400 new homes on the land, which is in the Green Belt. They are expected to appeal both the Council’s refusal of planning permission and the Village Green request.

Having helped the local Parish Councils fight the original application, CPRE are now monitoring the situation carefully.

Treasurer Wanted

After 5 years as a trustee and treasure of the Bucks Branch of CPRE, John Hayzelden will not be seeking re-election at the next AGM.

As a result,we are looking for a volunteer to take on this (unpaid) task, which is not onerous and does not require professional accountancy knowledge.

Anyone interested in taking this on should contact us by e-mail to office@cprebucks.org.uk or by letter to CPRE Bucks, PO Box 219 Aylesbury Bucks HP22 4ED.

Hoppers Farm Appeal

Earlier this year , Wycombe  District Council  refused permission for 36 two storey dwelling houses to be built on Hoppers Farm (The site currently owned by British United Turkeys Ltd. which is located in Great Kingshill in the parish of Hughenden.

The developers have appealed against the refusal and there will be a Public Inquiry scheduled for 27/28th Jan 2009  in the Chambers  of Wycombe District Council.
CPRE Bucks are supporting  W D C's decision to refuse planning permission  for this development and welcomes local support from its members  to attend the Appeal.

This site is not only green belt  but is situated  in Chilterns Area of Outstanding  Natural Beauty (AONB) and to allow development would undermine the whole  AONB policy.

Good News!

The appeal against the decision by WDC to refuse the building of 36 two storey houses on the site of Hoppers Farm has been turned down.In summary, the Inspector has decided the development on this Green Belt site within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty would be inappropriate and would harm the Green Belt.

Project Pinewood
This is a proposal to build commercial buildings plus 1400 new homes in 44 hectares of long-established Colne Valley Green Belt in Iver Parish.
In 2007 Gordon Brown promised “we will continue robustly to defend the Green Belt”.

You must fight for this commitment to be kept. Say NO to Project Pinewood.

Help to protect the Green Belt and your local community.
If you care, you can do something:

  • We need hands-on help, expertise.
  • Write letters of objection to the proposals.
  • Write to your local councillors and MP urging them to oppose Project Pinewood.
