The countryside is not only good for our well-being , it is absolutely essential to our continued existence.
We must reverse the rising temperatures and pollution that are threatening our future and the countryside is the main way we can do that. Of course in Buckinghamshire cannot do this alone, but we need to play our part. Our largely rural environment, close to the huge built up area of London, means steps we take to tackle climate change can not only help our own population, but millions of people.
Trees, plants and soil are three of the main carbon sinks and we need to not only protect them, but improve them if we are to counter the impact of the built environment.
